This past weekend, we were able to meet some friends in DC that live in NYC. We figured it was a nice place to meet in the middle. Last weekend marked the beginning of the Cherry Blossom Festival, which continues through the next two weekends. We were afraid with it being so cold last week, there weren't going to be any blossoms on the trees, but we were wrong!!
They were all over the place, very pretty - although it was cold the entire weekend.
We walked to the Jefferson Memorial (pictured above) and around the Tidal Basin, which are where the bulk of the cherry trees were. We walked around the WWII memorial, which is one of the newer memorials, but I somehow didn't get a picture of it. Our next main stops were the Capital & the White House. We definitely got our exercise for the weekend!
Unfortunately, we didn't get many group pictures and the two that we got weren't that great, but here is one of us in the capital, waiting in line...
